The United Reformed Church has been in Rusthall village since 1867,
and in the present building (which was built as a Methodist Church
in 1902) since the 1960’s. Our
objectives were to provide an improved worship area for the growing
congregation, to repair & restore the art noveau windows, to raise
the profile in the “street scene” by ensuring the new
entrance made a visual impact. To provide better toilet facilities
and storage and provide a sound reducing fold aside partition between
church and hall. The clients are very
supportive of the outcome, and an incidental benefit of increasing
light levels was to improve the acoustic reverberation time in the
church.
